A Scots pensioner who tragically died following a horror crash in Shetland has been named Kathleen McLachlan.
The 72-year-old suffered serious injuries in a collision on Pier Road, Walls, Shetland shortly after 1.10pm on Friday, March 17. The incident involved a black Citroen Berlingo and a parked orange Suzuki Swift. Kathleen, from Virkie, was rushed to Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick and later transferred to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for further treatment. Despite doctors best efforts, they were unable to save her and she sadly passed away.Police Scotland says an investigation into the crash is ongoing and have urged anyone with information on the incident to get in touch.
