12 showstopping installations will illuminate the city
This year's River of Light takes inspiration from music and art from around the globe and right here in Liverpool.
From Friday, October 27 to Sunday, November 5, the free outdoor art gallery will illuminate the city centre from 5pm to 9pm, with this year's theme ‘United By Light’ paying homage to the United By Music strapline used during the Eurovision Song Contest. To further celebrate the contest, three of the River of Light installations will be a special nod to this year's show. The 2023 stage designer, Julio Himede, has joined the artist line-up with a world-premiere artwork, along with Ukrainian creatives Tais Poda and RocknLight who will also be bringing world-first projections to the festival.
View gallery Last year visitors experienced Evanescent, a range of larger-than-life bubble installations at Exchange Flags; the Rainbow Accordion, several brightly lit accordion tubes forming a tunnel in Liverpool ONE; a handful of electric dandelions taking over Pier Head, and a range of other stunning sights around the city.
