On Monday, Claudia López shared pictures on social media taken during her private civil ceremony to lawyer and politician Angélica Lozano.
“I love you my divine Angelica!” the elected mayor wrote. “Thank you for existing and for always loving me. I promise to honour you and love you all your life!” On 27 October 2019, López was elected the first female and openly lesbian mayor of Bogota. The politician is due to take office in January.
