Two people taken to hospital
Firefighters had to use cutting equipment to free a person from a crashed car in the Dundonald area on Saturday morning.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service say they were called to the road traffic collision at the junction of the Comber Road and East Link Road at around 8.47am. A spokesman said the NIFRS mobilised three appliances to the scene where they found a two car crash involving three people. Two people were out of their vehicle when fire crews arrived, however one person had to be cut from the car they were in, the spokesman added.The Trafficwatch NI Twitter account indicated earlier today that there had been a fault with the traffic lights at the junction. However, there is no suggestion at this stage that this played any role in the collision.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they “received a 999 call at 08:41 on Saturday 19 August following reports of a RTC in the East Link Rd area of Dundonald.
