Fire-hit Morecambe pub to celebrate life of Queen weeks after 'crippling' shutdown
A family-run pub in Morecambe is hosting two days in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II just weeks after a heart-breaking fire led them to a 'financially crippling' shutdown.
Just weeks later, the family are offering the public a place to come and celebrate the life of the Queen who died on September 8, aged 96. The open-invite asks those who wish to pay their respects to join them on Sunday and/or Monday where they will raise a glass of port and serve a complimentary buffet as the Queen's funeral goes ahead.
"A small complimentary buffet will be available, whilst we be seated as Her Royal Majesty the Queen is laid to rest." The family's kind invite comes just over two weeks after a fire within the property led to devastation. The fire, understood to be caused by an extractor fan, led to firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and masks, as well as one hose reel jet and a ventilation unit to extinguish the blaze.
