But a review of revenue figures shows how Pac-12 members have been — on average — tens of millions of dollars behind their counterparts in the other so-called Power 5 conferences.
Overall, the public schools in the Pac-12 had average revenues of $99 million in fiscal 2022. That’s the lowest among the Power 5 conferences. For privately-owned BYU, the best financial data is what it reported to the U.S. Department of Education for calendar year 2021. Its $95 million in revenue would have placed it near the bottom of the Big 12, though about the median for the Pac-12.
