Feds charge alleged Norteño ‘shot caller’ with possessing guns in secret car compartment
SAN FRANCISCO — Federal prosecutors here have charged an alleged “shot caller” in the Mission District’s Norteño gang with possessing two pistols found in a hidden compartment of his Ford F-150 pickup truck, court records show.
Nicholas Addleman, of San Francisco, was charged in December with being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, which carries a 15-year federal prison term if he is convicted on those charges. U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisa Cisneros released Addleman to a halfway house while the case is pending, court records show.
In a failed bid to keep Addleman behind bars, federal prosecutors described him as a high-ranking gang member who served as a “shot caller” during a five-year stint at the county jail, where he was placed in administrative segregation for allegedly ordering an assault in late 2021. Prosecutors also allege that Addleman shot a person in the face at an Oracle Park stadium parking lot in 2017. The victim ended up with a bullet lodged in their head and “miraculously survived,” authorities said.
Addleman was on parole in October 2022, when San Francisco officers pulled him over on Judah Street and searched his truck. Two loaded semi-automatic pistols were found in a hidden compartment in the center console of the truck, and later linked to Addleman through a DNA search, according to the criminal complaint.
