The Ohio GOP-controlled Legislature passed a slew of bills in their final days of session that will affect Ohioans' daily lives.

The GOP-controlled Legislature used its lame-duck session to debate big-ticket items, including

that were ultimately rejected. But lawmakers also approved a slew of other bills into early Thursday morning that could affect Ohioans' day-to-day lives.Here are some of the bills poised to become law., first made public late Tuesday, that includes billions of dollars from multiple federal COVID-19 relief packages. The package includes:$498.5 million for child care, including $313 million directly for providers.$161 million in rental assistance.

"This has become the ultimate Christmas tree of a hot mess," Rep. Juanita Brent, D-Cleveland, said ofOpponents say the changes give oil and gas companies carte blanche to drill under state lands and parks. Proponents say the language urges state officials to do what Ohio lawmakers approved a decade ago: issue oil and gas leases on state land.

Environmentalists balked at labeling natural gas as"green energy." While it emits significantly less carbon dioxide than coal, natural gas contributed to 33% of the United States' methane emissions in 2020 and 4% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions,
