Federal Reserve Vice Chairman for Supervision Randal Quarles said Friday that, while he is comfortable remaining patient on monetary policy, more tightening might be needed down the road. "My sense is that further increases in the policy rate may be necessary at some point," Quarles said, in a speech to the Manhattan Institute's Shadow Open Market Committee in New York. He didn't elaborate on what "at some point" meant.
