The planning agent says views of the local community will be taken into account
People living in a Nottinghamshire village that could be expanded by around 350 homes have expressed mixed views on the plans. Whilst some fear the proposals could add to the existing "chaos" on a major road through the Ashfield village of Huthwaite, others say there is a need for more housing.
Another Chesterfield Road resident, who has lived in Huthwaite for 30 years, also said that the street was regularly packed with traffic. She said: "This road is absolute chaos at all times because if there's been an accident on the M1, then they all come down here. "We've lived here for 22 years and personally, we don't have much trouble getting a doctor's appointment and so on." However, planning documents show that whilst authorities including Nottinghamshire County Council have not raised any concerns, The Coal Authority has said there should be a full risk assessment of the site.
