A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on a Near West Side sidewalk, the Chicago Police Department said.
A fatal hit-and-run on Chicago's West Side Sunday morning is now being investigated as a homicide, according to police.
A 22-year-old man was struck and killed by a dark sedan while on the sidewalk in the 0-100 block of North Ogden Avenue just after 5 a.m., officials said. By the time officers arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His identity has not yet been released. So far no one is in custody and police say the incident is an active investigation as they look to witnesses and possible surveillance video in the area.
