Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Fast X gag reel has been released, and it shows Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, and the rest of the cast forgetting their lines and goofing off on set. Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast X was released this past spring, earning mixed reviews but going on to become a moderate box office success.
Now, following Fast X's digital release, ET has released the gag reel for the film, showing off just how much fun the cast got up to behind the scenes. The video, which is viewable on the ET website, features Diesel and Momoa, among others, forgetting their lines during crucial scenes, in addition to a variety of other funny mishaps.
While the expansive cast is one of Fast X's greatest assets, it also hurts the film. Purely from a financial perspective, the cast is part of the reason why the Fast X budget is estimated to be around $340 million, making it not only the most expensive installment in the franchise by a large margin, but one of the most expensive movies ever made. This monumental budget means its performance at the box office has to be significantly better in order for the film to achieve success.
Not only does the large cast create potential financial problems for the movie, but it also creates story problems. Despite the star power involved, Fast X can't possibly serve all of its characters in a satisfying way. While the Fast X reviews took issue with a number of aspects of the film, the unwieldy cast was a common complaint, with fan-favorite characters and their respective arcs just not given enough screen time for them to feel like worthwhile inclusions.
