The fifth installment of the six-time Emmy-winning FX crime drama anthology, which is inspired by the 1996 Coen Brothers movie of the same name, will take place in 2019 and unfold in North Dakota and Minnesota.
Deadline confirms that Fargo season 5 will debut on November 21 on FX. Along with confirmation of the premiere date, FX shared new images of the anthology created by Noah Hawley. They highlight the cast, in order, Hamm, Keery, Ted Lasso actor Juno Temple, Jennifer Jason Leigh , Richa Moorjani , Dave Foley , David Rysdahl , and Sam Spurell . Although he's not pictured, the ten-episode Fargo season 5 also includes New Girl's Lamorne Morris.
Close What's Fargo Season 5 About? Fargo season 5's story seems to begin with Dorothy "Dot" Lyon . After a series of unexpected events gets her in trouble with the authorities, Dorothy is suddenly thrown back into a life she thought she left behind. Dorothy, a seemingly Midwestern housewife, is the person that North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman has been searching for. A rancher, preacher, and constitutional lawman, Tillman believes he's above the law.
Tillman has Gator , his loyal but feckless son at his side. Gator is desperate to prove himself to his father. However, since Tillman can't rely on his son, he calls on the help of Ole Munch, described in the Fargo season 5 synopsis as a "shadowy drifter of mysterious origin." As her darkest secrets begin to unravel, Dorothy tries to protect her family from her past, but her loving and well-meaning husband keeps running to his mother, Lorraine Lyon .
