Family Promise of Summit County, a nonprofit organization that helps families experiencing homelessness stay together and achieve independence, is rolling out a new program that will offer families a path to homeownership.

Family Promise is working with the Summit County Land Bank and hopes to purchase its first home to renovate this month. In addition to necessary renovations prescribed by the land bank and Truly Reaching You, homes will receive a new furnace, central air conditioning and a new hot water heater, according to Wilhite.
