John was a key worker during the pandemic before he contracted the virus and passed away after four weeks in intensive care.
The family of a beloved Lanarkshire dad and husband have donated generous funds they raised skydiving to staff at the Intensive Care Unit who cared for him while he was dying.
And this week the mother and daughter from Blantyre were able to visit the ICU ward to thank the NHS heroes personally. "When we were there we saw the bed he died in as well which was emotional but being there we were able to bring some sort of closure to it all.The visit to the ICU ward came a week after the anniversary of John's death, making this week's gesture a fitting tribute.
Lorna told of how proud she is of her daughter Shona, although admittedly very nervous when she jumped aboard a plan to take on her skydive. He was found unconscious at home before paramedics rushed out and confirmed his case with an immediate coronavirus test.
