Family of Cumbernauld teenager killed in Scots motorway crash pay tribute to 'sweetest soul'
Relatives and loved ones of a teenage girl who died after a crash on the M73 have paid tribute to "the sweetest, most caring soul".
Following the crash, she and the 62-year-old male driver of the vehicle were both rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. But sadly, Sophie could not be saved and later passed away in hospital from her injuries. A fundraiser launched in memory of the teenager reads: "Our family is heartbroken. My little cousin Sophie tragically lost her life on Saturday, January 28 from a horrific car accident.
"She had a heart of gold, always putting everyone else's needs before her own and life would have been boring without her. It's heart-wrenching to know that Sophie won't be able to celebrate big birthday milestones, be able to walk down the aisle to get married or even be able to have her first child as she gets older."
