A man wanted by the Fairbanks Police Department was apprehended at the Alaska-Canada Border and taken into custody.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A man wanted by the Fairbanks Police Department was apprehended at the Alaska-Canada border and taken into custody.
21-year-old Judson Sherrell was wanted as a suspect in a recent homicide case in Fairbanks. FPD had put out notification to state law enforcement and the public of Sherrell’s possible involvement in the homicide and to notify detectives of any information regarding Sherrell’s whereabouts. According to a Tuesday, September 6, FPD press release, 21-year-old Judson Sherrell stole the deceased victim’s car and drove it through the Canadian Border to the Haines, Alaska Border crossing, where it broke down. He then tried to re-enter Alaska by foot and was detained by the U. S. Border Patrol. Fairbanks Police Detectives drove to Haines and arrested Sherrell and took him to Juneau. He is now charged with Murder in the First-Degree.
