President Trump claimed that New York officials ignored ventilators sent by the federal government — and instead attacked the White House for not doing more. Gov. Andrew Cuomo fired back, saying, 'That is incorrect and grossly uninformed.'

"We sent thousands of ventilators to New York, and they didn't know about it at the time they were complaining," Trump said."They were going there in large numbers." An aghast New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had this reply to Trump's accusation:"That is incorrect and grossly uninformed."Cuomo said the state now has only about half of the ventilators it will need during the worst phase of the outbreak. In about 21 days, Cuomo said, New York will need 30,000 ventilators for critically ill coronavirus patients.
"The hospitals don't need them yet," Cuomo told CNN."The hospitals aren't at their apex. The hospitals have enough ventilators today. But the numbers are going up. So the point is, 'They're in a stockpile, you must not need them' is just ignorant. Of course you don't need them today. You need them when you hit the apex, which is 30,000. We're not there yet.
