Both drivers downplayed it after the race. Piastri said it was “obviously not ideal,” while Norris put it down to Piastri being on cold, hard tires leaving the pits. “We respect each other, we give each other space, and fortunately nothing happened, so it’s all OK,” Norris said.
Yuki Tsunoda did not start the race after having an issue with his power unit. “I heard a weird sound from the car, and after that, I didn’t feel any power,” he said in a team recap. He pulled to the side of the track during the formation lap and watched as his current teammate — his third of the season — navigated his way to a near-points finish.
Lawson is going to continue preparing as normal given the uncertainty around when Ricciardo will be fit to return as he continues healing. Horner said Sunday Ricciardo is unlikely to return for the Singapore GP in two weeks.The Red Bull-Mercedes tension remains
