Plano’s planning commission is considering a plan to build a three-story, more than 220,000-square-foot addition to the tech center. The existing building dates to the 1980s and was originally an office and manufacturing plant for Memory Tech Inc. About a decade ago, the building got a major overhaul.
Plano-based Aligned Data Centers specializes in sustainable and more environmentally friendly facilities. Earlier this year, the firm increased its debt program to $1.75 billion to provide for planned growth. Initial plans called for expanding its data centers in Chicago, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and other markets. And this summer, the company announced plans for a major new facility in Northern Virginia.for data center space. Leasing in North Texas has surpassed additions to the market, and multiple new projects are in the works.
