Lord Skitter's Blessing looks powerful.
Magic: The Gathering Wilds of Eldraine returns to a plane steeped in fairytale lore. Just like the differences between modern and traditional fairytales, however, the set has some stark dissonance in its flights of fancy. For every whimsical faerie there lurks a more sinister, dark representation of fantasies of escape or transformation. It's a set that appears to be delivering on the expectations of a more refined followup to the game's first visit to Eldraine.
That's not an entirely fair comparison, though. Phyrexian Arena is 1BB and Dark Confidant is a 2/1 with no value offered if it doesn't live until the player's next turn. Lord Skitter's Blessing immediately generates something - a Wicked Role aura token that buffs a creature - and then threatens to provide even more value should that creature survive.
