The truck then crossed the double yellow line and nearly struck an off-duty police officer who was driving north on the road, the news release said. Robert O’Rourke, 55, of Lower Macungie Township, was at the controls of a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 as he rode north on Route 145 with his wife, Mary, 54, as a passenger, police said. The truck crossed back into the southbound lane and hit the motorcycle, authorities said.
Lindeman was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Trexler on the homicide count as well recklessly endangering another person, failure to wear a seat belt, driving at a safe speed and operating with unsafe equipment, authorities said.Court records say Lindeman will be represented by the county pubic defender’s office, but it doesn’t list a specific attorney.
