Sestak, 67, is a retired naval vice admiral who was elected to the House of Representatives in 2007 and again in 2009. He said he delayed his decision to enter the presidential race as his daughter battled a return of brain cancer, which she first fought off at age 4. Sestak, who graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1974 and earned a Ph.D. from Harvard, said in a campaign video released Sunday that"America’s retreat from the world today" is "dangerous and damaging to our American Dream."
