John Cofie and Nathan Stuart deny the charges they face and say sex was consensual
A woman was raped by a former Manchester United youth team footballer and a friend of his after a night out, a jury has been told.
Jurors were told the women went to the Conservative Club in Altrincham, buying a bottle of wine and sitting outside to drink it. Ms Thomson said they later went inside and were 'called over' by the defendants to join them. All four then went to the Green Room at Goose Green in Altrincham. Ms Thomson said: "She drank alcohol and as the night progressed, she was later to tell the police that memories of the evening disappeared. She recalled having a cigarette with her friend outside one pub and the next memory was being picked up the following morning by her father from Nathan Stuart's home.
The jury was told that on the night, the woman's friend went outside the Tiki Bar and got a text from her mum offering her a lift home. She went on to leave the woman two messages, then left. The woman's parents, meanwhile, reported her as missing at around 5.40am that morning. The friend she was with then 'managed to speak to' Nathan Stuart, who said the woman was with him. Her father drove to collect her.
Ms Thomson said she messaged Mr Stuart again to find out what had happened to her coat. He said he didn't have it but had some jewellery of hers and offered to drop it off at her home.
