Reportedly, Rev. Sammy Moon's second and final bout with the virus was the more virulent Delta variant.
By July 20, Moon's wife, Linda, said that"he could not really breathe." She promptly took him to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Sunnyvale, Texas, where he received treatment until his death.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that people who have previously had COVID-19 still get vaccinated. According to experts, vaccines continue to offer strong protection after several months, while it is believed that surviving the virus only offers brief and limited protection. This is evident in repeat infections, like in Moon's case.
"Whether it's a vaccine or not and you're scared of it, you better really think twice about not getting it because let me tell you this tore our family apart," Linda said.
