Evraz says operations haven't been affected by international sanctions on Russia

Evraz PLC said Wednesday that it hasn't been affected by the international sanctions imposed against Russia amid the invasion of Ukraine and that it continues to support the demerger of its assets, consolidated under PJSC Raspadskaya.

The FTSE 100 steel and mining company, which operates mainly in Russia, said that since the company isn't owned by anyone connected to Russia, its financial position and day-to-day performance hasn't changed or been hit by the sanctions. "The company notes that in the event that it becomes an entity owned by, or acting on behalf or at the direction of, a person 'connected with Russia' under the regulations, any further share issuance may be subject to the U.K. sanctions regime and hence may result in a suspension of the company's listing on the London Stock Exchange's Main Market for listed securities," Evraz said. It said it will continue to monitor its position.

Regarding the divestment of its coal assets, Evraz said the potential operation will serve the long-term interests of the company's shareholders, employees, clients and other stakeholders.
