Attorney General Barr contradicted President Trump in one way -- “I did not exonerate” -- but was on the defensive for his handling of the Mueller report, which he called “a bit snitty”
The existence of Mueller’s letter brought into question Barr’s testimony before the House last month—which came after Mueller’s complaint letters—when he said he did not know how Mueller’s team felt about his actions. In a hair-splitting defense, Barr said the letter was written by Mueller himself and therefore he did not know how Mueller’s team members perceived him.
Addressing Mueller’s complaints in the letter, Barr said the special counsel himself conceded there wasn’t anything fundamentally inaccurate about Barr’s summary in a phone call after the letters were sent. Barr cited the media coverage of his summary as the cause of confusion. AG Barr is a disgrace, and his alarming efforts to suppress the Mueller report show that he's not a credible head of federal law enforcement. He should resign—and based on the actual facts in the Mueller report, Congress should begin impeachment proceedings against the President.Attorney General Barr needs to resign. Today, he's proven once again that he's more interested in protecting the president than working for the American people.
