It doesn’t seem that Baylan has allegiances with the dark side of the Force, or with the Sith, so it makes sense that when teaching Shin how to build a lightsaber, it was in a Jedi fashion.
It's unclear if Ezra will alter his new lightsaber now that he has more time back in the main Star Wars galaxy. It would be interesting for Ezra to alter the blade to resemble a live-action version of his first lightsaber, which was a blaster and lightsaber hybrid. With Grand Admiral Thrawn hiding out on Dathomir, Ezra will need to rely on his new lightsaber more in future seasons of Ahsoka, or even in Dave Filoni’s The Mandalorian-era movie.
