Everton finalmente le puso fin a su sequía de goles con un empate 2-2 en su visita a Sheffield United el sábado, que representó para los dos equipos la suma de su primer punto de la temporada.
Arnaut Danjuma empató por los visitantes en el minuto 55 y el portero del Everton, Jordan Pickford, tuvo una doble atajada en tiempo de reposición para preservar el empate.
Everton fue el único equipo que no hizo gol en las primeras tres jornadas, pero Abdoulaye Doucoure aprovechó un rebote después de un tiro de esquina para poner en ventaja al equipo de Sean Dyche en el minuto 14. Fue el primer gol del Everton en la liga desde que Doucoure marcara en el último día de la temporada pasada, poniéndole fin a una racha sin gol de 316 minutos.
Pero Danjuma, quien llegó en el verano procedente de Villarreal, aprovechó en segundo poste un centro de Nathan Patterson y Everton soportó en los minutos finales y se alzó la figura de Pickford.
