Chris Eubank Jr was subjected to homophobic abuse by a spectator following his defeat to Liam Smith
One spectator at the event climbed over security fencing to access the media area positioned ringside, then repeatedly called Eubank Jr a ‘p**f’ and ‘c***’, before leaving.
He was then escorted out of the venue by security. talkSPORT has been told staff at the venue are reviewing the isolated incident. Former boxing champion Spencer Oliver and talkSPORT executive producer Sarah Collins witnessed the incident first hand.Collins said: “He was stood to my right in our broadcast area, trying to get as close to the ring as possible.
“It was a torrent of abuse. It got worse as Eubank Jr left the ring. He called him a ‘f****** p**f and a c***’, before turning on the talkSPORT team.
This prompted a reaction from Smith, who asked: “Chris, you go on about girls mate, has anybody in this room ever seen you with a girl?
