Ethiopian Airlines flight crashes en route to Nairobi, killing 157, months after an Indonesian crash involving the same Boeing 737 MAX model
An Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8, with 149 passengers and eight crew on board, crashed en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, triggering an effort to reach the downed plane and raising fresh scrutiny of the Boeing jet—a new model that was involved in a deadly crash last year.
There were no survivors, the airline said in a statement, adding its chief executive was at the crash site in Bishoftu, just south of Addis Ababa.
