Man United will resume their Premier League campaign at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
It says a lot about Manchester United's current state of affairs that it was no surprise to anybody that they emerged from their trips to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal with zero points.
United's first four Premier League fixtures this term featured a varied blend of opponents and expectations. Home games against Wolves and Nottingham Forest meant there was an expectation to secure six points, something the Reds achieved, but not without hard work.The trips to Spurs and Arsenal, however, meant expectations were lowered.
The clash with the Seagulls, who were the last side to beat United at Old Trafford in a domestic fixture, will mark the first of three home league games in their next four, all of which, remarkably, have escaped the hands of the broadcasters and will take place at 3pm on Saturday afternoons. Ultimately, however, United need to go into their next four league fixtures with the right attitude and mindset. There is an argument to suggest that they underestimated the powers of Wolves and Forest, squeezing past both of them by a one-goal margin.
