possesses three-down potential at the next level. Equally as impactful as a runner and receiver, Gray has every trait necessary to develop into an NFL bellcow. One of the most productive and elusive ball-carriers in the 2023 NFL Draft, Gray enjoyed a 1,300-yard campaign in 2022.
I already knew [cornerback] Woodi Washington from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. I had some teammates that helped me make the transition. Personally, it was definitely different going from Tennessee to Oklahoma. JM: When we turn the tape on, we see a running back with terrific vision and elusiveness. Those are two of your standout traits. How did you develop those aspects of your game?
You also have somebody like CMC [Christian McCaffrey] and how he manipulates defenses coming out of the backfield. There are so many different guys I enjoy watching and learning from. I try to steal a little something from their game and implement those traits into my game. It’s a great development for me because that’s the type of running back I am. I can get it done running the ball, but I can also catch the ball for us. It allows me to play faster. It allows me to be a three-down running back. My receiving ability is one of the best traits of my game.Eric Gray: It was a great experience for me. It’s a dream come true. I performed in front of so many NFL scouts. The atmosphere and overall setting were incredible at Lucas Oil Stadium.
