The return of a certain flair for soft-tailored elegance jibes with Giorgio Armani’s timeless sense of style; not surprisingly it was embraced by the design team for Emporio Armani’s pre-fall collection. Ditching any overt references to sportswear but keeping comfort paramount, the lineup was tinged with an elegant, youthful vibe.
Riffing on the masculine-feminine cadence so inherent to Armani’s codes, blazers and pantsuits were at the core of the offer. They were proposed in many tailored iterations: Jackets were cut boxy and cropped at waist length in updated tuxedo styles or else elongated and deconstructed in fluid Prince of Wales–printed velvet. Paired mostly with high-waist soft trousers, they looked easy yet soigné and versatile enough to be worn from the office to an evening cocktail.
For evening, a series of dresses, jumpsuits, and pantsuits in black velvet felt distinctly Armani-esque, comfortable and timeless enough to inhabit your wardrobe for years.
