Fans expect some big changes
The show is currently in a period of major upheaval as a number of stars have departed the fictional Yorkshire village. ITV announced another major behind the scenes change this week as it was confirmed executive producer Jane Hudson will leave the series.
Jane will step down from the role on September 22 after leading the show for nearly 1000 episodes across a hugely successful five years. Tonight's visit to the Yorkshire Dales was filled with more twists and turns after Mackenzie Boyd slept with Charity Dingle.Mack split with Charity earlier this year so he could focus his efforts on his relationship with Chloe Harris. However, he rekindled his romance in Wednesday's edition of the long-running soap.
Viewers following the show on Twitter were in disbelief after another twist in the rollercoaster romance. Some fans have become frustrated with the storyline and are convinced Mack could be next to leave once the new producer takes over.Eli commented: "If the new producer could get rid of Chloe and Mack, that would be great."
Other fans are convinced the changes could be even more drastic as it could result in the whole iconic Dingle family being cut from the show. Priya said: "Keep hoping the new boss will axe the Dingle family" Another fan hoped the role of the Dingles as bosses of The Woolpack would change once the new showrunner takes over. Paul posted: "The new producer I hope exorcises the pub of dingles and puts in decent owners."
