Emmerdale fans were left baffled by the same thing as they watched Laurel Sharm's hostage horror finally come to an end. The character found herself trapped in the worrying clutches of Councillor Colin after she previously helped his son remove himself from his dad over his homophobic views.
But earlier this week in the ITV soap, Laurel was disrupted from planning her trip to India to join her new husband Jai for his dad Rishi's funeral. She got a text message from her son Arthur's former love interest Marshall asking for her to retrieve his passport from his homophobic father Colin so he could go on holiday abroad with his auntie.
But after police called round at his house, as Nicola King reported her pal missing after she failed to make it to India, Colin drove away with Laurel to a local beauty spot. She then attempted to counsel him over his grief following the loss of his wife and "terrible decisions" rather than making her escape and he later drove them back to his police-swarmed home where Jai and Suni were waiting for her.
