What an amazing year it was - especially for music 🎤
As years go, 2003 was a memorable one for Scotland's largest city as we ushered in the fourth year of the new millennium.
In June superstar rap acts Eminem, Xzibit and Cypress Hill performed at Hampden Park for what's regarded by many as the greatest hip hop show in Glasgow's history.July meanwhile saw the likes of Darius, the Sugababes and Girls Aloud all appear at the HEBS sponsored Live and Loud concert at Hampden alongside a whole host of other top stars.
The city also welcomed a brand new venue - the Carling Academy in Laurieston. Housed in the former New Bedford Cinema, the 2,500-capacity venue at Eglinton Street provided a shot in the arm to Glasgow's already vibrant music scene.
