Elon Musk says he plans to re-roll out Twitter's new paid verification system next week — a second attempt after the first catastrophically backfired with users successfully impersonating major companies and celebrities.

This will be his second attempt at launching a paid verification system. His first attempt earlier this month failed, including Lebron James, Former President George W. Bush and Musk himself. One account impersonating the pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Co. tweeted that insulin was free, causing the company's stock to take a nose dive."Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before check activates," he explained in a Twitter thread.
But he has yet to explain how the manual verification will work, or whether it might delay the verification process, especially
