Elmhurst police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the Monday afternoon robbery of the Elmhurst-Wintrust Bank, 115 W. Third St., in which two suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, eluding police.

Elmhurst officers were called to the bank at approximately 4:41 p.m. Monday for the reported robbery. Officers learned that two suspects entered the bank. One gave a note to a teller demanding cash while the other suspect stood lookout. The suspect with the note implied he had a weapon, although no weapon was displayed.After getting cash, the two suspects fled on foot westbound on Third Street toward Addison Avenue.
Suspect 1 was described as a male, 20-30 years of age, 6-feet tall, of medium build, wearing a blue Nike hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and black gloves.Suspect 2 was described as a male, 20-40 years of age, 6-feet tall, of heavy build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, surgical mask, and black pants.The Elmhurst Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are continuing to investigate the incident.
