John and Christine Alexander witnessed their mobile home get destroyed while it was getting towed
An elderly couple living in a freezing caravan have been left homeless after a horror crash. John and Christine Alexander witnessed their mobile home get destroyed following a smash while it was being towed.
In one case, a house they were offered did not offer parking nearby, which would be crucial for Christine. John says the eventual move to the caravan was far from ideal–especially given the wintery weather – but they were unable to afford to stay in a hotel. The caravan was being towed behind the car of a friend, while the couple were riding in their own car behind. They were travelling between Barney's Café, where they caravan had been pitched, and Immingham on the A18 December 18.
Following the crash, police closed the road down to deal with the accident. The couple are now staying with friend, Allan Rayson, who has generously offered the couple lodgings until they find a permanent home.
