Eden Project Morecambe and what it could look like as work finally set to begin - in pictures
A new artist's impression showing what the inside of the Eden Project biodome could look like.Originally named the Eden Project North, the conservation project is expected to put Morecambe back on the map after it has struggled for the last few decades to command the same popularity as nearby coastal towns like Blackpool and Southport.
Discussion has surrounded the potential of the project for several years but when £50m of Government money was awarded to it through the Levelling Up Fund earlier this year, those dreams finally came reality. Since then, lots of work has continued in the background and construction crews have been briefly seen at the site to collect soil samples. What are your thoughts on the Eden Project Morecambe? When complete, the visitor attraction is expected to bring in 750,000 people a year and provide a huge economic injection to Morecambe and the surroundingarea. There is also expected to be a major boost for businesses in the surrounding area with hotels, bars and restaurants all likely to see increases in footfall.
Here, we take a look at what the site might look like when it is finally completed. It is expected to open its doors in the latter half of 2025, after experiencing a number of delays.
