Brian Conley, who plays Thomas 'Rocky' Cotton, was seen as a BBC fan favourite but bosses have now reportedly been left with a 'headache' as they scramble to write him out as soon as possible.
EastEnders has reportedly been hit with a huge blow as one of its top stars has sensationally quit the show and demanded BBC bosses axe his character from Walford as soon as possible.
The Sun reports show writers are now rushing to try and fit his departure into the big Christmas storyline they have planned for the end of the year. "He seems delighted he’s got his own way. The Beeb wanted him to stay, but he’s having none of it. The truth is, bosses are furious. They’d made so many plans around him and his character, and they really thought he was in for the long haul. There has been a lot said in private about him messing up their plans.
Since his first appearance in Walford, Brian's character has been involved in many high-profile storylines including his marriage to fellow fan favourite Kathy Beale, who is played by soap icon Gillian Taylforth.
