East Dundee residents who park RVs or box trucks in their driveways, keep swing sets in their front yards, or lack paved driveways may soon find themselves in trouble with the village.
The East Dundee Village Board is looking at strengthening its property codes and hiring an outside firm to enforce them.Trustees discussed the idea of updating village codes Monday and hiring a firm that would be charged with making sure codes are enforced.
At least two trustees raised concerns about what to restrict and how big a problem code violations were in the village. Village Administrator Erika Storlie said the village board could come up with proposed code revisions and enforcement changes but not take any action until after getting feedback from residents at open house events.
