With the two people charged with killing and torturing him still in jail, authorities on Tuesday identified a toddler who died after being found in a bathtub last week.Crime and Public Safety |King Kemp, 2, died Oct. 2 from “prolonged abuse,” according to Contra Costa County prosecutors. Authorities said they found him in a bathtub inside a California Street apartment in Rodeo after being called there for a drowning.
The two torture counts are because a 10-month-old also was hospitalized and suffered injures consistent with abuse, authorities said.Deboe is the mother to both victims and Haywood is her boyfriend, authorities said. They remained in the Martinez Detention Facility on Tuesday. Deboe is being held without bail and Haywood was being held in lieu of $3.1 million bail.
