People on Tax Credits are being urged to take action to ensure they are getting the right amount of benefits.
The UK Government is changing the benefits system meaning more people on tax credits will be told to apply for Universal Credit as the government migrates more people on to the single payment benefit.
The UK Government said: “In most cases, individuals will be better off following a move from legacy benefits to Universal Credit. “This means that their Universal Credit entitlement will be the same as their legacy benefit entitlement at the point they move.”Guy Opperman, Minister for Employment, said:The movement of those on legacy benefits to Universal Credit will ensure we can continue to provide the best level of support to benefit recipients through an effective and streamlined system.
