Many customers are anticipating paying more this winter despite the new price cap
Customers should see their energy bills become less pricey this winter after energy regulator Ofgem announced a new price cap. The energy price cap will be cut to £1,923 from October 1.
The previous government grant reduced bills by between £66 and £67 per month between October and March, 2022. Ofgem chief executive Jonathan Brearley said: “It is welcome news that the price cap continues to fall, however we know people are struggling with the wider cost-of-living challenges and I can’t offer any certainty that things will ease this winter.”
£300 Cost of Living Payment Millions of households are set to receive £300 this autumn as part of a government package. No date for the payment or qualifying date has yet been announced, however, it has been confirmed payments will be issued some time in the autumn period.
