Not many were expecting it
The Department for Work and Pensions has issued a 'surprise' alert over an upcoming £150 payment going into millions of bank accounts from next week.
However it has left some people surprised and baffled as they were either unaware of the £150 payment or didn't believe they were eligible to receive it. The texts confirm that "the £150 Disability Cost of Living Payment will be paid automatically from June 20 to July 4.
People who receive a qualifying benefit from the DWP as well as another qualifying benefit from the Ministry of Defence will only get one £150 payment and that will come from the DWP. The full list of benefits to qualify for the upcoming disability cost of living payment is as follows: "Disabled people on low incomes in receipt of means-tested benefits may previously have been eligible for £301 this spring, and stand to be eligible for a further £300 this autumn and £299 in spring 2024. The £150 payment will be made on top of these cost of living payments."
