The pending sale price of the home is considerably less than its original — and some argue, current — value. The 1.3-acre property on Swedesboro Road in the Gibbstown section of the township was initially listed in 2015 at $2.9 million; subsequent listings have seen the price tag drop from $1.75 million , to $875,000 , then $750,000 , down to $475,000 , and now just over a quarter million.
“A lot of people have had a dream of actually living in a museum — and I have lived in a museum,” said Doris Rink, 80, the seller. Doris said she always imagined the property would become an official museum site one day or even operate as a visitor center for South Jersey. But, she’s glad it will at least be maintained.
