John L. Johnson, 38, of Albany, New York, was arrested and charged with second-degree eluding after a chase on I-95 North in Bergen County.
A 38-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after police say he led them on a high-speed chase on I-95, entered the lower level of the George Washington Bridge before turning around and nearly striking road workers.
The detective was able to confirm the BMW had been stolen earlier in the day during a burglary in Maplewood, according to the prosecutor’s office. As the BMW traveled more than 90 mph on the Turnpike, the driver “recklessly drove in and out of traffic and entered the lower level of the George Washington Bridge,” the affidavit states.
