LAYTON — A driver suffered critical injuries during a crash with a semi truck on Interstate 15 Monday morning.
Utah Highway Patrol trooper Luis Silva Santisteban said the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-15 near Church Street in Layton. A car and a semi truck collided, then went off the roadway and struck the center median, according to UHP Sgt. Cam Roden. The driver of the car is in critical condition, he said.
Investigators are looking into a possible medical condition that may have occurred prior to the crash. Roden said the left two lanes of the roadway are closed, and will remain blocked until around 9:30 a.m.
